Damru rugs are generously woven from soft and plush knotted Damru threads and lustrous Flattica threads. Multiple plies of both Damru and Flattica threads are woven together into a thick cotton base. A polymer coating at the back of rug further enhances anti-shedding properties of the rug and hence making them longer lasting. All threads used in the rug undergo a rigorous dying process using high grade colours thus ensuring long lasting colour fastness.

Word "Damru" comes from Devanagari language which means two-headed drum shaped like an hourglass. The Damru is very common throughout the Indian subcontinent. The Damru is known as a power drum, and when played tends to bring spiritual energy. Knotted thread used in this rug shaped like Damru and hence the name!

Product Review: Be aware..
There are gold ribbons incorporated within the design of this rug that are almost impossible to see in the photos. The quality is good but we were caught off guard and decided to move it to a different room from the one intended as a result.
